THE AUSSIE BULLDOG FROM THE BEGINNING |
| The Greens
line of breeding took a step from the stocky bull catching type dogs without
any British bulldog blood in them, to a new area of breeding dogs for their
health, colour and personality, and not aimed at a catch dog as such.
This opportunity came from a dog Angelo Tropea
owned in Caboolture QLD , an impressively built dog called "Agro"who was a British Bulldog Boxer straight
cross. Agro was bred in Caloundra , and was a full brother to Everus Rocky Road
owned by Gavin Everus , and " Rocky" was later used back to Jag Paint in 1998
that produced a female called Jag Ginger Megs, that started the Yanco
kennel owned by Julie Wickham. Everus rocky road was a half brother to
Wingara Chippolata .They all had the same British Bulldog mother , but Chip
was sired by a totally different male Boxer .Chippy was purchased from Caloundra by P.Nobes
and become the second foundation female of the
Nobes line . The Greens used "Agro" over Jag Sallyanne in 1993 , she was a daughter of Banjo & Brindle. This litter produced a well known productive female called Jag Dishlex. ( Dish). She was only 25% BBD blood, and we then relied on her to build the platform for the future breeding plans that we had in mind. "Dish" was mated to a pure white British Bulldog called Jake, producing 2M & 2 F pups on the 11-04-94 and later mated to another British bulldog in 1997,called Maxlyn Hercules Wrath (Boris), producing "Maggie" and 9 other brothers and sisters. Miss margarita was a 5/8 female, that went back to "Teddy "who was a pure white full British, and this produced Paint at 13/16 and 8 other siblings ,6F & 3 M, four of which were exported to Guam as the first Aussie Bulldogs to leave the country .This was the beginning of continual export of these dogs to a large number of countries , including the United States ,Tahiti , Japan , China , Singapore , Hawaii and Guam just to name a few . The first introduction of pure Bullmastiff came from a female called Charlotte in approximately 1994/95, a lovely large solid fawn, crank tailed female who was initially owned by the Greens and sold to Angelo Tropea .He put his British Bulldog Jake to her, producing 9 pups,8 females and 1 male. These hybrid's were then used back into the program. Greens had a male from this called Moby who was later sold to Pip Nobes .Two females called Tropeas dressed in red & Tropeas Nikki were valued females used for the next generation of breeding producing some good litters of which a couple of important dogs came about . Tropeas Dressed in red was put to another British Bulldog Angelo owned called Jacko, also known as Mityan Sir Anglo .This litter produced a male called Cashes Donk . He was bred by Dianne Cash and purchased by Haden Lowe from Brisbane who sold Donk to the Greens in 1999 , and they later sold him to Pip Nobes . Mityan Sir Anglo was also used by Angelo Tropea in 1999 to a pied coloured full bred Staffy female called "Roma" , producing a large litter of puppies , some having natural screw tails .One of her daughters became known as Pukallis Dizzy also known as Bullstaff Dizzy bred by Jason & Trish Pukallis(Taros) in Morayfield QLD .She was then mated to Jag Master Duncan who is from Jag Paint and Perciles Hero , producing Pukallis Fanny owned by Graeme and Mellisa Mc Allister of Mc Grammel Kennels. Fanny was mated to Bungalow Bronson Of Jag to produce Mc Grammel Prince Archer , sold to Vaughn Cameron, and Archies 2 sisters Darma and Bindi sold to Peter & Tricia Pownceby from Warra Kennels , to put with their male , Cassidy of Yanco. The other main introduction of Bullmastiff was from Robert Kestel in WA, who owned a male called " Tiger Boy " who was red brindle. , His breeding was Bullmastiff / Bulldog straight cross , and was the only male in a litter of 2 pups that were available for sale in a Perth newspaper. These 2 pups were bred by a Chinese couple in WA, by putting a Bullmastiff male from Lilacglen breeding, back over a British bulldog female from Britwell breeding. This male was used by Greens on two occasions and by Rob Kestel for the start of his Kestels breeding program in September 1998 . Tiger boy who was only 50%, was put to Jag Dishlex to produce Jag Tim Tam, who was 3/8 or 37.5% and 12 other siblings. 2 females from this litter started G'Day Aussie Bulldog kennels owned by John Franks .Tiger boy was also later mated back to another ped British bulldog female and this only produced 1 brindle male ( Oscar) and 1 pure white male ( Casper) . Both of these males were produced by a woman that preferred to stay un-named, so the dogs were registered under joint Kestel-Jag prefix. Kestels Jag axle foley went to Yanco in Victoria and Kestels Jag Casper stayed in WA. Jag Tim Tam who was later bred to a full BBD, called Biltoft mighty power, known as Devass Gregory, back in1999, and this continued a line of healthy productive females starting Layleys Kennels with Jag Pepper and Jag Coco as well as producing Jag Cindy for the Green, who was 11/16 or 68.75%. Tiger was also used over Jag Miss Margarita to produce Holly @ 9/16,or 56.25%,and then she was put to a BBD Allipundi Lord Charles (Max) and this produced dogs such as Jag Bundy for Malleebull owned by Fleur Marks and Jag Bronson owned by Trevantroy, all these dogs were nearly 85%.Holly also had two previous litters ,11 puppies in the first litter and 8 in the second litter both sired by Cash's Donk, who was 75% BBD and 25% bullmastiff. This produced the following pups that were 65.625% mathematically. We kept 2 females Jag Boofette and Jag Aussie, who were both later sold to Joe Cauchi at 12 months of age, with a large number of our other dogs. Another one of these females went to Bullseye kennels in SA and Charles kennels in NSW and to Brad Cooper in QLD. This mating between Donk and Holly, tied in two lines of Bullmastiff ancestry. |
